The Left’s America

The latest Economist poll asked a very interesting question: “Do you feel that things in this country these days are under control or out of control?” Nearly 70% of Americans said our country is “out of control.” They’re right.

Everywhere we look, things are out of control.

Boys claiming to be girls are invading our daughters’ locker rooms and bathrooms.

Millions of people from all over the world are invading our country across our wide-open borders.

Crime in our major cities is forcing many businesses to close.

The economy is so bad that many young Americans can’t afford to buy a home, and many families are struggling to make ends meet.

Our college campuses have been hijacked by Jew-hating Hamas sympathizers.

Yes, things are out of control.

This is the “fundamentally transformed” America that the left is building.

What we’re seeing on the campus of UCLA is what happens when leftist “progs” prevail. They have depleted police forces all over California. They are undermanned, underpaid, and undermined every day. But now they want the police to clean up the mess the “progs” created.

UCLA, a historic university, is being run by total cowards. From the governor’s office to city councils, most communities in California are controlled by the left. The majority of students on campus are leftists. The majority of administrators are leftists. The rioters are all leftists.

The only conservatives you are likely to see in any of the coverage of the UCLA riots are the cops putting an end to this insanity.

If he were alive today, Ronald Reagan would weep over what has happened to his beloved Golden State.

The Ayatollah’s Offer

The Islamic Republic of Iran is offering scholarships to pro-Hamas students who have been expelled from our “horrible” universities. I recommend that we make the applications for these scholarships as widely available as possible to the malcontents on our college campuses.

I don’t want to educate them. They’re not interested in learning. And I definitely don’t want to be forced to pay off their student loans!

But it would be a tremendous learning experience when they go to an Iranian university and try to set up a campus LGBTQ club.

I’d love to see these young men explain to the university’s Shiite president why they want to be young women and share bathrooms with the girls in burkas.

I would really love to capture for posterity what happens when the first American student tries to become a drag queen and insists on wearing a dress when he reads to kids in Tehran.

I’d love to see how these students react when they get their draft notice to join one of Iran’s many terrorist proxies and are ordered to go blow themselves up somewhere.

Stand Your Ground

It is truly unfortunate that the neo-Marxist left succeeded in exploiting George Floyd’s death. Two of the officers involved were minorities, and there was no evidence that Derek Chauvin was motivated by racial animus.

But it became the cause the left needed in the summer of 2020 to attempt to derail Donald Trump’s reelection. So, our cities burned. Monuments to our Founding Fathers were desecrated. Rioters not only sacked inner cities, but they also went out into the suburbs to terrorize as many people as possible.

There is no doubt that an undetermined number of Americans inclined to vote for Trump were intimidated. They felt he couldn’t calm the chaos, and they bought into Joe Biden’s rhetoric about bringing the country together. (See next item.)

There were forces behind that chaos much bigger than anyone was able to nail down. And they’re at it again.

Yes, the university riots are built on anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel. But they are just this election year’s permutation of the BLM riots. The violence you’re seeing on campuses now will likely spread this summer.

In recent months, I’ve noticed several confrontations between police and minority suspects in which officers had to use deadly force in self-defense. There were significant efforts to blow up those incidents into another George Floyd event. So far, they have thankfully failed.

But I guarantee you, there are people desperately hoping one of them can be used to push the false narrative that America and law enforcement are “systemically racist.” And they will combine forces with the radicals chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

By the way, most of the protesters arrested at Columbia University were not students. They were professional agitators exploiting the chaos. And the neo-Marxist left wants as much turmoil as possible because they believe it will instill fear in Middle America.

They want you disoriented and reeling from one place to the next, while telling you that your sons can be girls, that you have no right to pray outside your church, that America is evil, and that we’re headed toward nuclear war.

They want all that chaos because they want you overwhelmed and demoralized.

The answer is simple: You can pray. You can guarantee that in your home the right things are taught to your children.

But when this chaos starts coming at you, you must stand your ground. Don’t give one inch!

Make preparations to protect your family and be ready for what may come in the months ahead. Don’t assume the police will be there in an emergency. The police come to take crime reports. They seldom are able to prevent the crime. You are your own first responder.

Most importantly, even if you have to crawl over hot coals, you must vote. If there is any chance you might not be able to do so on Election Day, you must vote early.

Children At Risk

Multiple states are fighting the Biden administration’s radical effort to gut Title IX. That historic law offered protections to women and girls in academic settings and opened up tremendous new opportunities for them. But Joe Biden is warping Title IX to include confused men and boys pretending to be women and girls.

Russell Coleman, Kentucky’s attorney general, is among those leading the charge to stop this insanity. Earlier this week, he filed a federal lawsuit to block Biden’s new Title IX regulations. Coleman declared, “As Attorney General, it is my duty to protect the people of Kentucky. As a dad, it is my duty to protect my daughters.”

That is a clarion call to every man and woman in America. The battle we are in -- from college campuses to your elementary school to the halls of government -- is a battle to protect your children.

You have a duty to protect your daughters and granddaughters. You have a duty to protect your sons and grandsons.

I was with a large group of faith leaders last night, kicking off events for the National Day of Prayer. We prayed for three hours. A major focus of those prayers was healing for our nation. We all want that.

But we’re not going to heal the nation while the battle rages on. I share the sentiment of the prayer, but we should be praying for victory and then healing.

In World War II, should we have prayed for an end to the bloodshed? No. We were never going to hug the evil out of Hitler. We prayed for victory that would ultimately end the bloodshed.

Nobody on the left is praying for our nation or for healing. They are fighting like hell, and literally fighting for the causes of hell. They intend to make us kneel.

There won’t be any healing until they are defeated.

Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom

In this week’s Defending Faith, Family, and Freedom podcast for the James Dobson Family Institute, I address the anti-Semitic chaos on our college campuses, a dark evil Christians must call out as sin.

But those radical students don’t represent America. There are still many young men and women who are willing to stand up for our country.

National Day Of Prayer

Today is the 73rd annual National Day of Prayer. Click here to watch the National Day of Prayer Broadcast tonight at 8:00 PM ET.

First established by Congress in 1952, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation in 1988 designating the first Thursday of May as a day of national prayer.

At a prayer breakfast in 1984, Reagan famously warned, “If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Please join Carol and me in praying for America. Pray that we find the courage to defend the timeless values of Faith, Family, and Freedom.

Tune In To Family Talk

Please tune in to Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk radio show.

On today’s edition of Family Talk, I speak with Kathy Branzell, president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force. She discusses the theme of this year’s National Day of Prayer event, which is based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31.
